I am looking forward to discuss that question in an expert panel debate at the EBC 10 in Barcelona next Wednesday with Christian Rau (Senior Vice President Fintech Enablement and Crypto, Mastercard), Jovi Overo (Director of Unlimit BaaS , Unlimit), Pelle Braendgaard (CEO and Co-Founder, Notabene) and Jonas Gross (Chairman and Co-Founder, Digital Euro Association).
It raises a couple of interesting questions, in terms of where we are in the journey of the actual adoption of payment use cases in the crypto / blockchain space through the various means of either stable coins, other crypto assets, or even CBDCs. Are they already “the killer use case”, or are there any challenges to the wider adoption so far, and if so, what are they? Is it costumer trust, regulation, market readiness, simply geography and the state of development of the respective economies, or something else entirely? Last but not least I am curious about what are the expectations of the industry going forward.
